Canine Good Citizenship (CGC)
Our Canine Good Citizen (CGC) class will take you and your dog through all the steps necessary to earn your Canine Good Citizen from the American Kennel Club. The CGC is a wonderful award to have for a companion dog or for any dog that is being considered for Therapy or Service Dog Work. When you’ve been awarded your CGC, it means that your dog has been evaluated and is considered to have good manners in public—to be a “canine good citizen”! In the class we’ll practice each exercise and help you improve any areas that need improving in order to pass the evaluation. The CGC Evaluation is offered the 2nd Saturday of every month by a Carson Dog Sports instructor and certified CGC Evaluator. Once you pass, you will need to send your application to the AKC with $5 to receive your certificate. CGC Certification classes are offered as an advanced class concentrating on CGC test items and are not meant to be a general or first-time obedience class.
