Novice Rally
The Novice Rally class is an introduction to rally for dogs that know basic obedience commands such as heel, sit, down, come, and stay. This class focuses on the foundation skills needed for dogs to succeed in Rally. In this class, you will learn how to read Rally signs, learn all thirty-one Novice rally exercise, work toward proper execution or these exercises, we will also do other attention, and basic obedience exercises to help you become a better rally team. In addition, we will discuss the rules and scoring in the AKC Novice class and cover some of the differences between AKC and APDT Rally-O, UKC and ASCA Rally programs. Handlers can expect to do weekly homework including working the novice exercises, and other attention exercises with their dog and spending additional time learning the signs on their own so they can quickly recognize the signs while on course. The first week of class is done without dogs, unless we requested you to bring your dog for an evaluation. This class is an on leash class and all teams should have a six-foot leash and have either a buckle, or choke collar. We also suggest that handlers bring a crate to put their dogs in during class discussion time and so the handlers can better observe the other teams work.
Cost $110 for 6 weeks
