Focus and Relationship Building for Canine Sports
Focus and Relationship Building for Life and Canine Sports (Pre-requisite for all other classes except Puppy classes)– This class is for dogs or puppies older than 6 months and will give you and your dog the basic skills to be successful in any group class. We will teach you how to relate to your dog in a way that creates a “working relationship,” and how to teach your dog a whole new way of “learning.” In any dog activity, the dog must want to work with you and must be confident offering new behaviors. The tenants of operant and classical conditioning are taught, and you will learn how to motivate your dog to work with you. You will learn how to figure out what is motivating to your dog and use those things to your advantage in your training. Teaching your dog to settle in and enjoy a crate (Crate Games) and x-pen will be taught as will other skills critical to participating in all group classes. You will learn skills that you use in your every day activities with your dog and begin to build a more harmonious home life. This class teaches a whole new way of relating to your dog that is fun and eye opening.
